Dan--
I believe I have answered the croos-posting question
before.
At the present time Carman-Roots and Carman public
lists are very much the same -- exceptg that Carman
subscriptions are monitored and Carman-Roots
subscriptions are not.
My other lists have different names.
Sometimes I cross post and sometimes I do not.
As to the question as to whether the public Carman
list will be open to subscriptions. Sadly, from
evidence so far, probably not. Having Carman-Roots
open to subscriptions has not brought any new
genealogical material to the list, so appears to be of
no benefit at the present time.
All posts to the public Carman List are archived amd
available permantly to the general public with a day
or two.

Patricia,
I'm a little confused. You cross post to your
many
lists that you run all the time. Why have you
singled out
Carman-Roots for not cross posting Carman
information?
You also stated that Carman-l was closed to
subscriptions,
therefore it is not a publicly accessible list. Is
it? When
will the list be open for subscriptions? The Carman
Cluster
Page is still soliciting subscriptions for that
list.
I did ask last week whether or not your,
listmaintainer(a)yahoo.com
address was replacing the lister email address.
Still looking or
an answer there.
Thanks for clarifying the matter, Daniel P.
Carman
