Another statement of Carman Genealogy Myth!
On the below linked web page devoted to Coe
Genealogy, a reference is made to the parents
of Abigail-2 Carman who married Benjamin Coe.
The page list's John Carman and Florence Fordham
as her parents. There is no evidence known to
support Florence Carman's maiden name to be Fordham.
To the contrary, the evidence discounts Fordham as being
one of the possibilities!
http://www.rootsweb.com/~wvmarsha/coe1.txt
A reference is made in the book, "Fairfield and Perry Counties, Ohio, Their
Past and
Present, containing A comprehensive History of Ohio;....." compiled by A. A.
Graham,
Chicago, W. H. Beers & Co. 1883, to a Jacob Carman Architect.
On Pages 77-78 reference is made to the construction of a new county Court
House with Jacob Carman of Lancaster as the architect with a plan.
Lancaster
is also in Fairfield County. Construction would have begun about 1867
since
it was completed in 1871 after four years of construction.

The Anna Carman identifed at this link was born May 28, 1841
in Schuyler Co., NY. Anna was the daughter of Thomas Carman
and Margret Williams. Thomas was the great-grandson of
Adam Carman and Philadelphia Titus.
This was a nice site based on the fact that the information
was sourced! Unfortunately, the data for Anna Carman and her
husband had a computer database for a source. This being
teritiary information, you don't know where the information
was derieved.

The query on Sarah J. Carman at this link ties to
the line of Alexander Carman of Ulster County, NY
who had a son named Joseph, grandson named Robert,
and grand grandaughter Sarah J. Carman is the subject
of the query.
Tim,
I have heard of the line. I am sending you the address of
a great-great-great daughter of William B. Carman. He was born in
N.Y. and from what I understand that is were the search is currently
underway to find a link to his line. William B. Carman was married
twice. First to Elizabeth (Jacquess/Johnson/Johston) on August 28,
1814. He married second Sarah Calvin Neil on April 18, 1844.
I believe the middle name was possibly her maiden name and Neil was
her name from a previous marriage.

Hi Dan, here is what I have, most of this came from the Marion Co. Missouri

Thanks for any help.

Carman's migrated to Kentucky mostly from North Carolina and they settled in
two counties; Breckinridge and Casey Co. However, looking at Geography of
the time, water routes took a number of Carman's through Kentucky on their
way west. Tim, do you have any allied families associated with your William
or Nancy Carman. Do you know of any of Nancy siblings? Maybe the name
of William's wife?

This query is related to an unconnect branch
of Long Island Carman's. The definitive
Ancestor is Adam Carman who married Amelia
Johnson. The descendants migrate to Canada
and few returned for the 1881 reunion in
Hempstead, Long Island.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~nyschuyl/quakseel.htm
Be advised that the above compilation has missing
data from previously published compilations on
the Carman Quaker Cemetery. This group of Quaker
Carmans descend from Adam Carman and Philadelphia
Titus.
Example:
Phila wife of John Ammack died 9-15-1878 aged 83 yr.
8 mo. 15 da.
The web version above simply records ae 83. The web
version has also placed the listing in Alphabetical
order which detracts from the various related families
buried with the Carman's. This information is listed as compiled
and typed but does not provide a source. For example,
has the grave site been recently surveyed and this is
the data we are looking at or is this actually an extraction
from a previously published work done much earlier?
What your sources on the Internet.
http://www.rootsweb.com/~ohbelmon/query016.htm#1124
Regarding the above query; a little confusing but
for clarification. William Carman was married to
Eliza Cooper and he was the son of Jehiel Carman
and Rebecca Nearing. William and Emily had
William Cooper Carman, who married Emily Hatcher.
A Correction to Carman Web Space Outline as of 15 May 2000:
http://freepages.genealogy.rootsweb.com/~carman/caroutline.htm
Listed below Carman Authors on the subject web page:
"Theron Lewis Carman - study Carman name before migration to America"
The author should read,"Theron Lawrence Carman, 2nd." The study done
by T.L. Carman of the Carman family in England has not been verified
and documentation provided in the unpublish manuscript is suspect in
providing proof the lineage outlined in the work.
