Beginning March 2nd, 2020 the Mailing Lists functionality on RootsWeb will be discontinued. Users will no longer be able to send outgoing emails or accept incoming emails. Additionally, administration tools will no longer be available to list administrators and mailing lists will be put into an archival state.
Administrators may save the emails in their list prior to March 2nd. After that, mailing list archives will remain available and searchable on RootsWeb
I noticed all the information regarding New Jersey Wills.
There is an index to Carman Probate records for New Jersey
which provides detailed identification of the
various papers. There are over 40 Carmans listed.
It is located under the resources section of the following

Hello again,
I roamed around a bit and found an explanation on how to interpret the tax records. The person that helped me out indicated that this was likely information from Monmouth Co., Middletown Township and that the information is read as follows...
Person Taxed PAGE# When Taxed
Joseph 006 TX 1786
I am indeed new at this hobby and excited about numerous facts, myths and histories that I've found on the net. I'm looking forward to traveling to our local Family History Center to follow up on a good deal of the information that I've found.
It's also been amazing the amount of new friends and relatives that I've met along my Internet journey.
Thank you for the recommendation to visit Cyndi's site, I will most definitely add that to my places to visit.
Thanks again,
DJ

The LDS Site we have been hearing about will be available to the public
for brief periods at
http://www.lds.org/en/4_News_Update/19990401_Genealogy_Test.html
I have no special knowledge, and hope it will be able to stay up -- but
if not -- its a test

Sorry, I dont, and I am afraid it is a complicated project, and may be a
month before it is up. Is there any specific information that I can
help you with at this time? These are finding aides to help you in your
own research - i.e. - this tells you that Joseph Carman was on the tax
rolls in some years between 1790 on. This is meant to give you a pointer
as to where to searrch. Any information on the net must be corroborated.
See Cyndi's site at Rootsweb for a new section on myths and legends in
genealogy. I think it will be helpful in giving you perspective, as I see
you are very new to genealogy and the net and impatient to get started in
your search.
Thanks for your interest, and hope the post provided some pointers for you
in your search.

Do you have an approxmate time line for this to hit the web page? I'm very excited to learn how to read this information.

This information refers to Tax Lists and comes from LDS fiche. It is a
partial listing of the information, and I believe the number is a
reference to a roll of film, which I will need to check. I believe there
is also a CD with the same kind of information previous to 1790 with the
same notations.
This is the first part of information which will be posted to the Census
Board on the Carman Web space real soon now, and will have more
information about the numbers referred to.
Thanks for your interest.
Hello,
I hope you will all bear with me as I undoubtedly ask a stupid question. Where or how did you locate this Joseph information and how does one read the information?
On a side bar, I saw the test for the archive message, and notice that messages no longer show in the archive. Is this feature broken? I have an ancient modem, and a slow provider so I've come to depend on the archives for quick looks at what's been sent. I have the archive page book marked on my browser where I work (which is much faster). This helps save me time and aggrivation with my home set up. Hopefully, the archiver will be fixed soon. Either that, or I guess I'll have to bite the bullet and upgrade my home setup.
Thanks so much for your patience and letting me ask my stupid questions,
DJ
