These are the notes that I have regarding his death at the rail yards in
Meadville:
The L. stands for Lafayette, He is the son of Stephen and
Louise (Wiard)
Carman.
One of his descendants is having him placed in the Railroad Memorial at
Horseshoe Curve in Altoona, PA
I don't know how long that will take.
Mr. Fremont L. Carman who was caught and crushed to death on the
morning
of
March 22nd, 1905 between his engine and a car in the Meadville yards
early
in the morning. When the unfortunate man was found pinned between
the
cars
> life was then extinct. The blow came with crushing force to his bereaved
> wife and children and friends. (Newspaper clipping found in Bible).
> According to Susan Rose Carman (from her daughter Shirley) Fremont was
> helping out a friend and that wasn't really his job).
> Buried at Mt. Blair. - Crawford Co. PA
