I have a copy of p.98 from "History of Dufferin", pub.1982 that covers the
Town of Carman. The town was named to honour Bishop Albert Carman, the
head of the Methodist Church in Canada. The name of Carman City was
decided by a vote of the citizens in the 1880's. Carman was legally
incorporated into a village in September 1899. Hope this is of interest.

Carman, Manitoba, Canada! Does anyone know if the
town is named after members of the Carman Family?
