Surname: Carman, Bailey, Harris, Medlin
I am searching for records pretaining to my Great
Great Great Grandmother and her family, I think
that they may have been in Bartholomew Co. Ind.
around the year of 1820. My Great Great Great
Grandmother Lucinda Carman Medlin was born in abt.
1820, her parents was Joshua and Susannnah Carman.
According to what records show here in Dade County,
Missouri where the family came to show that she was
born in abt. 1820 in Ind. Her father Joshua Carman
was born in abt. 1790 Ky.; d. 1876 Dade Co., Mo. and
her oldest sister Elmina Eleanor who was born in
1811 in Kentucky, she later married John Harris
they too lived in Ind. Her mother Susannah whose
maiden name may have been Bailey we show place of
birth unknown; she was born in abt. 1791, and died
bef. 1860, this is according to the Dade County, Mo.
Census. Elmina Eleanor married John Harris they too
was in Ind. as the first four children were born in
Ind.. The Carman children was as follows:
Elmina Eleanor b. 1811 Ky.; Lucinda b. 1820 Ind.;
James H. b. abt. 1832 Ind.; Joshua T. I believe
that there may have been at least one more son as
there is a Carman child in our records Clara Lucinda
whose mother Millie McBride who later married the
brother-in-law to Joshua's granddaughter Eliza Medlin
Daniel, who was my Great Great Grandmother.
