I have just obtained photocopies of the Bible Record of John Carmack.
The Bible is in the possession of the Claxton family of Paris, Henry Co.
Tenn.. Mrs J. Claxton does not remember who sent her the Bible, but my
g grandfather, Green(e) Lee Carmack married Nancy E. Claxton in Henry
Co. in 1869. He was the son of William and Sarah Carmack of Henry Co..
They were born in N.C. and we think were in Lenoir Co. in 1820. Mrs.
Claxton refers to the records as those of John #2. Does anyone
recognize this designation? It seems I have heard of it before on this
web.
The record is in two columns. The copy is not the best, but perhaps it
will shed some light on the "Johns" question. Illegible info will be
shown as a ?.

Well there it is. The references to John Carmack being the son of
Cornelius and Mary Carmack and John being married to Francis may help
connect them to the larger picture. If anyone can clarify the linkage
for me, please let me know. Attn. especially Dale and Ruth.
Thanks Jim Carmack
