Hi Judy,
No, I do not have the Early Settlers book you mentioned, I have seen many
references to it and I think I have some pages copied from it. A few years
ago someone copied pages for me but did not copy the cover page. So, now,
I'm not sure if this is the same document or not. I have pages 1089-1093,
with a section title Chapter LXX and covers Carmacks. On page 1091 it lists
the children of Cornelius and Margery, #8 was John b 1773 and states "He was
living in Bledsoe Co., TN after removing from Washington Co, VA". That is
the extent of what it says about John.
I need to get another copy of page 1091 as my page has part of the left
margin missing (about the first 3-4 letters of each sentence.)
Page 1091 does talk about William Carmack's 2nd marriage to Mary Yeary Ball
( I throw this in because there has been some interest in Mary Ball on the
list in the past few days.)
If anyone can confirm that this information is from the Early Settlers of
Lee County Va. & Adj. Counties book I'd appreciate it and also I could use a
copy of the cover page and page 1091. If someone wants to scan it and email
that is acceptable as well.
thanks,
dale

Subject: John Information
Dale,
I just came across this. You may have it, if so disregard. This is from
Agnes Jones. "John Carmack, that lived in Bledsoe County, lived on Rainey's
Turnpike. The Cagles were in the same area." She said there was a
Rainey/Dill Cemetery with some old graves. She hadn't been there, but had
checked the Cagle Cemetery and the graves in it weren't old enough to be of
any help.
Also, do you have a copy of "Early Settlers of Lee County Va. & Adj.
Counties,
Vol 2"? I have a note that says check for birth dates. "He was living in
Bledsoe County, Tenn after removing from Washington Co., Va." I don't know
where I got this information and would sure like to know the rest of what it
says.
Thanks.
Judy
