Hi Gail and Dale,
I was planning to go thru all my Stuff, to see if I could make the Mary
and William Carmack connection. You saved me the trouble. Shows you're on
your toes. It's so nice to read messages now and be able to put a face with
that person. Cathy Worsham gave me a pile of Carmack stuff. Everytime I
see a query, I'm sure the answer is in the material she gave me, but finding
it--that's another matter!
I've been kinda busy lately. Haven't had much time to spend on the
computer. Still plan to get a typed list of names and addresses from Berea
reunion out to the Carmack Cousins.
Good to hear from some of the Carmacks on the list. Your cousin, Pat

Dale:
The families you have listed (below) Abraham Carmack and Jacob Carmack are
both sons of Levi Carmack and Elizabeth Peters. They moved to Owsley Co,
KY from Claiborne Co, TN. Jacob Carmack m. (1) Sarah J. Fultz, (2) Lydia
Burns.
The third family is that of Isabelle Burns and her second husband James
Barrett. First husband of Isabelle Burns was John Carmack, another of the
sons of Levi Carmack and Elizabeth Peters. John was born ca 1827 according
to his descendants. He was listed in the 1850 Owsley Co, KY census as age
30, but then census records are not always accurate. John apparently died
sometime between 1850 and 1860--I have not found a death date. The two
Carmack children are his. (1) Mary Carmack b. 15 Jan 1844, m. Granville
Combs, (2) William "Billy" Carmack, b. 1846, m. Mary Bowlin.
Best wishes, Gail

Genealogists never die; they just lose their census.
