Those Carmacks who believe we are of Scottish ancestry I suggest you
be in touch with Moultrie-Colquit County Library, 204 5th St., SE,
Moultrie,
Ga. I found this gem on my recent travels. They work hand-in-hand with
organizations in Scotland and are able to research roots, clans, clan
plaids, etc.
I understood from the short time I was there that a million dollars was
endowed
to the library and half the family research area is devoted to Scottish
heritage
Another address I have is the Council of Scottish Clans and Associations,
Inc.,
P. O. Box 1110,. Moultrie, GA 31776-1110.
I did get to see the Carmack restored cabin at Stephenville, TX and did
some
research in Columbus, GA library which has complete set of TAP ROOTS.
Also found Carmack grocery store in Loachapoka, Alabama and there is
a book on History of Loachapoka which I found to be very interesting and
has
several entries on T M Carmack, who was son of Furnifold Carmack.
Visited
Antioch Church with cemetary which contained graves of Carmacks. Details
later as I have to take time to play catch-up now that I am home.
