If anyone can help straighten the John Carmack out in Craven Co, NC please
help out. Also let's try and keep the responses on the list so we can all
benefit. It is my understanding that no one has proof of a link into the
main Carmack line for them.
The same question for Elizabeth Carmack Lamb mentioned below, does anyone
know her parents?
thanks,
dale

Dear Dale
I don't know too much about the Carmacks in Craven Co., NC. I know that
John
Carmack bought land in 1746 from Solomom Dockity of 100 acres. The
same
year
John Carmack was a witness for a sale of land for Soloman Dockity.
Another land record in 1786 is of John Carmack and his wife Rachel.
1789 is the marriage record of John Carmack and Mary Daughety.
There was also a James Carmack there who fought and died in the Rev. War.
His wife Lydia files for a widows pension and tells of the needs she and
her
4 children have. This James Carmack was deeded land in 1765 from John
Carmack.
There is also a Joab carmack deeded land in 1769 from John Carmack,
and
James deeds to Joab in 1773.
Judy has written to say that the Elicabeth Carmack Lamb of Bledsoe County
TN
is not the sister Of John Carmack of Bledsoe. John did have a sister
Elizabeth who married a James Henry. She died in Roberston Co., TN. Judy
said it was well documented.
I still have to wonder who is Elizabeth Carmack Lamb from VA.,who lived in
Bledsoe Co., TN.
Here is what I know of her children.

Husband John Thurman b. 1808.
3. Nancy b. 28 Sep 1807 in Bledsoe.

4. Hugh d. 14 Feb 1843
Wife Elizabeth Ann Anderson b. 1 Apr 1811 in Bledsoe.
5. Jane no dates
Husband James Madison Anderson.
6. Elizabeth b. 24 Jan 1818

There father was Alexander Lamb who on the 1850 census was 68 years old.
Thats all I know.
