That's been a question in my mind. I took it for granted that they had been
divorced simply due to the fact that he was not mentioned in her obit. If
they had been married at the time of his death, I am sure her obit would
have mentioned that he had preceeded her in death. At least that is my
thinking.
Unfortunately, Louisiana does not as of yet have their divorce records on
line as so many other states have done. Perhaps in time...
There is mentioned in her obit that she was survived by six grand-children
and six great grandchildren - perhaps one of these days one of these will
get an interest in genealogy and be willing to share some of these family
secrets.

John,
One other thing I just found and I have no idea if this is
correct......for the male child
of Norman Phillip and Hattie Elizabeth Lewter Carmack, I had his
spouse's
name as "McIntyre"........and for the female child of same couple with
the
last name of Field for her spouse.
Have no idea abt these, but wanted to tell you just the same.
BTW, Norman Phillip Carmack wasn't listed as preceding her in death in
her obit. He died in 1982, 7 years before she moved to Texas......Do
you
think that they were still together when he died?
