Hello Bill,
You mentioned your friend Ronald Dishman doing archival work on Overton
County. Could you ask him to keep his eye out for anything on Susannah
Carr who married John Wesley Carmack in Overton County on 22 May 1822.
I'm desparately seeking names, etc., of her parents or siblings. Susannah
was born 18 Feb 1804 ...my undocumented information says she was born in
Virginia.
Thanks for this,
Norm Carmack

>Lewis Carmack line is not my line, mine being Jessie from Overton County,
but we have an archival program in Van Buren County, some other counties
that are doing this is Henry and Overton, in Van Buren County we work on
our old county recods every monday evening, we recently opened an old box
of records and one of the names I found was Lewis Carmack, dated 1840, Van
Buren was formed from Warren and White Counties in 1840, in looking at this
paper it appears Lewis Carmack was living in part of Warren that became Van
Buren, we have some other old records that we worked on about 5 years ago I
haven't looked in them yet to see if I can find Lewis, but I can get the
marriage records of Charles Carmack for anyone that would like a copy. We
have boxes that we haven't went through but I think what is left is not as
old as 1840, there are lots of Paines in these recods also. Also, anyone
that would like a copy of recent paper with Lewis Carmack on it I will be
glad to send it to you. I attended the Archival Conference in Nashville
last October, this year I look forward to going back and talking to more of
the Archivist there, especially one from Henry County, Ronald Dishman in
Overton and I have been friends and worked together for years. Agnes Jones
