I have been able to access Ellis Island records for brief periods of
time and found 23 Carmack records.
Shelby C. Carmack, Mrs. S. C. Carmack, Charles W. Carmack and Sarah
Carmack all returned from the Panama Canal Zone in March, 1911. I
presume they were visiting their son/brother Prescott H. Carmack who
also made 2 trips through Ellis Island. P.H. was supposed to have been a
crane operator working on the Panama Canal between 1909-1913. (These
Carmacks are descended from Peter son of Evan & Mary Wolfe Carmack).
Other Carmacks include:
Annie, arrived 1906 age 60

the ship.
