Hi, if you mean the
Ancestry.com/RootsWeb boards, they made that change quite some time
ago. It doesn't cost anything,
and I haven't gotten any junk mail from placing my e-mail address there. It actually
is one of the nicer changes they
made to the boards. I believe the purpose was to allow user to have one place to go to
change or update an address
which then would automatically change any previous posting you may have made to any of the
boards. The part I like is
that once you do become a registered user you can set up favorites and navigate through
the boards by that rather than
storing them all in your own computer favorites. And anytime you do want to post
something, that log in information is
easy to just click on, rather than adding your name and e-mail address each time. Yep,
only my opinion but actually it
is one of the nicer things about the boards now.
