I am a descendant of Charles and Mary "Polly" as well but I do not know your
information. My grandmother was a Carmack and she and her husband traveled to Quapaw OK
(from Crocker, MO) for mining and later around the Joplin area. Try looking there.

Message Board Post:
I have a question for the Pulaski County Carmack researchers. I have John
Charles Carmack born about 1858 in Kentucky, married to Victoria Elizabeth
Hensley. John is the son of Charles Carmack & Mary 'Polly' Payne. John died in
1906, in or near the town of Indianola, but my question is "What State?" I have
conflicting information I received from others as to John and some of the
children being in Texas & Oklahoma. I am going through and confirming &
updateing, and am not sure where he died.
What I know for sure is;
John & family lived in Pulaski County, Missouri in the 1900 census.
John died in or near the town of Indianola.
John's daughter Beulah died less then two weeks later.
They are both buried in the Indianola Cemetery.
I do not know the date that they died, or the state, but I do have the obits
from a newspaper that was sent to a family member with the postmark on the
envelope dated Oct. 23, 1906. The postmark shows "Indianola" on top and on the
bottom "IND. T.". Could this be Indiana? Does the "T" stand for
Texas?
I really would like to hear from anyone that knows about postmarks, or knows
where they were living in 1905/6, and can confirm it.
My wife's connection is through Johns brother, Cecil Calvert Carmack.
Thank You
