Hello Cousin Kim,
I have never seen the proof that Zeak & Alicy Dean are Bro-Sis. The site I
checked
http://www.geocities.com/ksjdean/dean.html is incomplete.
Lets now stop & think about what we know for sure. Abe Carmack & Alicy Dean
were married in Clairborne Co Tenn. We now know that Zeak Dean March 10,1829
is the Son of a Mary Carmack. & a John Dean & was born in Tenn. We have to
prove this. More Research needs to be done in Clairborne Co Tenn records. I
drove through there last fall but did'nt get the chance to stop & Research. I did
get a county map & found 3 roads/hollars named Carmack in Tazwell Tenn. My
Wife & I then drove up to Summerset to the Millsprings BattleField to see where
Issac 1816 died & was burried in a mass Grave.
Your Abe & Alicy was in the 1850 Clairborne Co Census. the next census I
picked them up on was Owsley Co ky 1860 &1870.
Special note: on 1870 I found Abe's mother Elizabeth age 79 living with
Abe on Travelers Rest. MY QUESTION WHICH HAS NEVER BEEN ANSWERED BY ANYONE IS
DID ELIZABETH DIE IN OWSLEY Co???????? I have been to several graveyards on
Travlers Rest trying to find the answer to this . I believe I even posted this
once at the Carmack site.
Abe has more desendants researching than any of his brother's & Sisters. I
have been pertty much along on Jacob 1828. I have chatted with a few early
researchers from my Issac 1816 lines.
There is a Lady in Indiana that is suppose to have a painted picture of Abe.
I met her about 5 yrs ago.
The Deans have put out several books plus they have a large reunion every
year in Ky. They put a add in the Ky Explorer every year letting everyone know
when & where. You may be able to go to Rootsweb & type in Dean & go to their
website. This may be the quickest way to find some answer's.
I go down to Owsley-Clay-Jackson -Breathitt-Perry Co about 6 times a year
for Research-Reunions- Vacation & ATVing. My 1st trip of the yr will be Good
Friday for 7 to 9 days I always like this time of yr a/c the snakes are'nt out
yet.
