Gail,
Both Ezekiel's could very well have been named for Alicy's Brother Zeak
Dean. I 1st saw record of Zeak Dean in Clay Co Ky census circa 1870-1880. He
then moved to Owsley Co.
Family stories say Zeak lived on the Harrison Br of Buffalo Ck Owsley Co
untill he traded land with Jacob 1828 Carmack at which time he moved to
Rattlesnake Br Rt Fk Buffalo Ck.
The Deans are burried on Rattlesnake Br. The last Dean burried there is
George who died in the 1950's. To visit this Graveyard you need a ATV because
it is a very long walk up Rattlesnake.
The DEAN'S have a large reunion everyyear in Ky. It is about time for it to
show up in a issue of the Ky Explorer.
The CARMACKS I have been trying to work on the last 8 yrs are
Jacob,Issac,John, & Abe .All 4 of them was in Clay-Owsley Co at differant
Times.Issac was in Clay 1840 then returned to Tenn. Abe & John showed up in
Owsley 1850. Jacob showed up in 1860 even though we know he had LandGrants in
1851-1853.
My direct line runs throudg both Issac 1816,&Jacob1828.
John was in 1 census then in the next his wife was married to another man.
with John's Son & Dau living with them. Have yet to find any Death Record's
for John.
