Hello Pat,
You wrote:
"Give me the names of each William's children. The other William who
married Mary C Hartsock is my ancestor, the one who lived with his son,
Levi, in Lee County, VA.
Also, have you been able to clarify the
death of Mary Catherine Hartsock? AND, do we toss a coin as to which
William married Mary "Polly" Yeary/Ball? When and where did Mary
"Polly"
die?
One more question: Which William went to
Missouri?"
Pat, I will send you separately my family group sheet for William
Carmack and Elizabeth Walker so you will see who their children were. I
don't know where this information originated, other than his will, but
there are birth dates for many of the children and I believe there
existed a bible at one time with their birth dates in it.
I have never seen any information on the death of Mary Catherine
Hartsock or Polly Yeary/Ball.
All I have on your William going to Missouri is from a "Carmack Family
History" compiled by Roberta Morris of Henderson Iowa. The information
was from "Uncle George Hale" and states in part that "William Carmack
moved from Virginia to Missouri in 1826 taking all his family except
Levi. He came back from Missouri where he left his family, all of whom
were married. He married a widow 'Ball' in Lee County, Virginia and had
no children."
According to Census, it appears Allan Carmack had already gone to
Washingon Co. Indiana, as he shows up there on the 1820 Census. In 1830
Evan shows up on the census of Owen Co. Indiana. I made a note that I
can find Evan again on the 1840 census of Putnam Co. Indiana, on page
702, but I have not gotten around to that yet. Evan is found in 1850 on
the Crawford Co. Missouri census, and in 1860 in Dent Co. Missouri.
That is as far as I have gone, but it appears they may have gone to
Indiana first, being Allan was already there and later some moved down
to Missouri. They are not my line so my interest is rather casual.
Sorry this is so long.
Betty
