Thanks to Texas cousin Norm for helping identify the political
cartoonist named "Carmack". It is Paul R. Carmack, b. 12/18/1895 in
Madisonville, KY. He was a staff cartoonist for the Christian Science
Monitor from 1925 - 1961. He trained at the Art Institute of Chicago and
he wrote & illustrated "The Diary of Snubs, Our Dog" Vols. 1-4. He lived
in Boston, MA until his death in 1977.

There is an original art political cartoon by "Carmack" for sale on
eBay. It's a pencil drawing with an opening bid of $9.99 (no bidders
yet). Anyone know what Carmack drew cartoons?
