Searching for: Mrs. JOHN CARMACK and/or OPAL M. GILMORE and/or MAXINE GILMORE from Baxter
Springs, Kansas and/or HARRY EDWARD SWINDELL (b.abt 1926) and/or JOE WESLEY SWINDELL
(b.abt1928-29) were born in Picher or Miami Ottawa County(?), Oklahoma.
Maxine Gilmore (b.abt1908) from Baxter Springs, Kansas and William Ralph Swindell
(b.1897-GA) married on March 22, 1926 in Gerard, Kansas. They lived in and around Picher
and Miami, Oklahoma while her husband William Ralph Swindell was working in Mining
Operations in the areas around Joplin, Missouri with their children. They were divorced
("abandonment") in 1929-30 in Ottawa, County, Oklahoma and their children (Harry
Edward age 3 years and Joe Wesley age 9 months) custody and care were awarded to Maxine
(Gilmore) Swindell. William Ralph Swindell apparently had moved on as he elected not to
appear in court and sent a certified letter, dated May 8, 1928 from Burke, Idaho to the
courts in Ottawa advising that he waivered his right to appear in court. Maxine and her
children were believed to have remained in the Picher or Miami Oklahoma area for at least
a short time or she and the children may have moved back to her family's home in
Baxter Springs, Kansas.
Information below from Montana, death index, and newspaper obituary archives show the
following that could very well be the same William Ralph Swindell discussed above:

We are not completely satisfied that the Montana Death Index and Obituaries published in
the Montana Newspaper "Montana Standard" in Butte, Montano is the same person as
the William Ralph Swindell that was married to Maxine Gilmore and the father of Harry
Edward Swindell and Joe Wesley Swindell in Ottawa, Oklahoma in 1926 through 1929-30.
Any help in location any descendants of Maxine Gilmore Swindell, Harry Edward Swindell,
Joe Wesley Swindell or any of her family, (parents, grandparents, relatives, etc.) could
be very helpful in helping us to locate Maxine Gilmore and William Ralph Swindell's
children and their descendants.
Any help will be appreciated and thanks for reading this posting.
