Beth--
Saw your post.
My family is descended from John Wesley Carmack, who came to Erath County on
1850-1860. There are many Carmack descendants in Stephenville today,
including my mother.
I would love to exchange information, if you would like.
Jeff

Dale, I've been able to establish my lineage back to Cornelius Carmack, Sr,
born June 18, 1736 and have papers pending for DAR on him. One of my
cousins did quite a bit of genealogy years ago and established our lineage
back to William Carmack, Cornelius Sr.'s father. Have already established
lineage for Cornelius Carmack, Jr. for DAR. He was born in 1759. From
Corneilus, my line is Isaac, Samuel, George W. and my mother Ruth Carmack
Kemp. Since only male Carmacks can participate in the DNA project, we do
not have confirmation by blood, but have marriage license, Rev. War service
records, census records, etc that have established this lineage. I have no
proof back further than Cornelius Sr. and since you are into DNA, you may
not accept what I have as "proof", but it meets my requirements.

Subject: [CARMACK] What line are your Carmack's
Several years ago I asked the list for what was called a "roll call" which
identified each persons' Carmack lineage. I'd like to ask a similar
question again. I don't want to know each person's lineage this time but
I
would like to know who each of our earliest documented Carmack ancestors
are. If you can connect to Cornelius Carmack (born 1681) let him remain
the
earliest ancestor. Do not list Christopher as Cornelius' father (unless
we
have some documented source to show it).
Here is mine, I'm doing mine a little different.
Earliest documented ancestor - Jesse Ann Carmack, born 1797 (there is no
documented proof of Jesse's father).
The Carmack DNA Project confirmed that Jesse Ann Carmack descends from the
Cornelius Carmack line even though I cannot identify his actual father!
Hope you all participate........
Thanks,
dale
