Joseph Nolen Carmack, son of Wash & Lucy, born 1868, Overton Co., Found
dead in road in Grundy Co., Tracy City, Tn., per. newpaper, thought to have
frozen to death. died 1931, married Molly Braddom, very little is known
about Joseph, information on Joseph came from Cemetery, newspaper and
brother Finis Carmack. Per newspaper article at time of death Mr. Carmack
came to Freemont from Livingston years ago and had made his home in and
about Freemont ever since. He was eccentric and geneally kept his
belongings hid about in hollow logs and trees. Lela Sapp a niece of Joseph
also gave information.
Agnes Joses, my grandfther was his brother.

CARMACK, Joseph M. "Joe"
10-??-1868 - 12-10-1931 s. of Wash, h. of Susan, b. of Mrs W.B. Danner
Was he the s/o Jesse Washington CARMACK and Lucy Almira NOLEN?
I have a file on a Joseph M. CARMACK and Susan E. MYERS, married
08-05-1897,
in Overton Co.
Identified children as listed in the 1900, 1910, 1920 and 1930 Overton
Census
Records:
Benjamin F. b. May 1898
Calvin b. abt 1905
Jube b. abt 1909
Susan listed 4 children born and 4 living in the 1910 Overton Census
Carmack Cousins Newsletter, Volume 111, No. 1, Sept 1, 1984, lists a
Joseph
N. as a child of Jesse Washington CARMACK and Lucy Almira NOLEN
I'm presently listing Joseph M. and Susan as s/o Jesse and Lucy but now
not
sure this is correct. Can anyone on the list help me straighten this
family
out.
Thanks,
Jerald Brown
