Jerald,
I think most of the information is correct with the exception that this is not the John
Carmack that was the son of Cornelius and Margery. Their son John was the one born in
1773 either in Frederick Co., MD or what became Washington Co., Virginia. Since that was
about the time Cornelius and Margery moved to Virginia, it's impossible to say in
which state he was born. He remained in Virginia, leaving there some time before 1805
when his daughter Sarah was born in Tennessee. He settled in on the Cumberland Plateau in
Bledsoe County, Tennessee.

Subject: John Carmack - Mary Daugherty
Someone was enquiring about the wife of John.
I have John b. abt. 1773, in Frederick Co., MD, m. Mary Daugherty January 31,
1789, in Craven Co., NC
Source of marrriage: FGS's from Dick Alloway, 521 Tall Oaks Dr., Tilson, NY
12486, CD 004, November, 1994 Edition, Craven Co., NC Marriages and from
Ancestry.Com which states: Bond date: 31 January, 1789. Record #01 051.
Bondsman Elisha X Beasle. Witness: S. Chaphan. Bond #000025131.
Mr Alloway stated that John was married twice, 1st wife not named, had 7
children, three died in infancy. ref. DAR Library, Washington, D.C. John
Carmack , W-3772, applied from Guiford Co., NC, age 74. Enlisted at
Hillsboro, Orange Co., NC 1781.
If this is correct John's DOB has to be wrong.
I have parents of John as Cornelius Carmack and Margary Jane Evans.
Not sure how accurate this info is. Can anyone confirm?
