Hi Jerald,
I'm quite sure the John mentioned here is NOT my John Wesley Carmack since
he and my mystery Susanna Carr Carmack left Overton for Iowa around 1830ish....
I sure do like the combination of the Carmacks and Carrs here though..makes
me think they are some of Susanna's family !!!
I believe that Benjamin is maybe son of John Carr and Fanny Sells Carr,
whom I THOUGHT for a long time might be Susanna's parents, but never found
a mention of her with their listings...
Take care,
Norm

Anyone have the parents of John CARMACK listed in this deed and the
purpose
of the 1-acre lot?
Overton County Genealogical Records, by Edythe Rucker Whitley
Deed Book "K", page 252. John RICHARDSON conveys to Abram CARR, Benjamin
CARR, Thomas CARR, Junr., William MARIUS, John CARMACK and Richard COPELAND
and their heirs forever for the use of the neighborhood and for a $1.00
consideration a lot in Dist. No. 6, containing one acre. Adjoins CHAPPINS
line, signed John RICHARDSON 30 Nov., 1846.
The only John CARMACK I found in Dist. No. 6 in the 1850 Overton Census was:
674 675
John CARMACK 43, farmer, $1000.00
Elizabeth 40
Sarah 19
Joseph 17
Hardin 10
Matilda 7
Calina 5
Martha 3
James 5/12
Mary 17
All b. TN
Thanks for any information.
