Paul,
I am just now catching up with reading my Carmack Digests from March of this year, and saw
all the correspondence about Judson Reed Carmack. My grandfather was Dewey Webster
Carmack, so Judson Reed was my mother's uncle. I remember Mother's cousin Alma
(daughter of Curtis Clifton) and know a lot about Uncle Curtis and Aunt Mardell. Would
like to correspond with you for any information about this family.
Norm, I noticed on your response that you list Lela Foster as still living. She died
several years ago in Tennessee, and she had done a lot of research on our branch of the
Carmacks. She has a daughter, whose married name I don't know and when I tried to
call the son I found an unlisted number.
Please contact me. You need to talk to Paul Carmack, son of Uncle Jack Carmack. He is
the primary researcher of our line, and believes that our George Washington is the son of
William Carmack even though he is not mentioned in the will. He is mostly going by times
and places where the families were, supported by Dan Buck's notes. I have come up
empty handed in this area, though I'm looking at the possibility of George Washington
Carmack, the grandson (not the son, about whom there is much information) of Jonathan
Carmack.
