Yes, Wm. Ryburn Carmack was grandson of Isaac (1813-1876) and son of
JAMES Thomas Carmack and Elizabeth J. Ryburn. Notice the correction of
1st name of his father from John to James. Bet you just copied it wrong.
On the grave citation for William Ryburn Carmack where it gives Father
as James F. Carmack, you will see that they should have the middle
initial as T instead of F.
William Ryburn Carmack was the older 1/2 brother of my grandmother. Her
dad, James Thomas Carmack, first married Eliz. J. Ryburn, but she died
eleven days after William Ryburn Carmack her 1st child was born. He
next married Mary Louisiana (Ornduff) Whitlow, a widow and they had 4
children. My grandmother was the 3rd of the 4 children. When my
grandmother was about 6 years old her mother died too and James Thomas
married 3rd time to Sarah Carpenter and had 3 more children.
In case you are interested in William Ryburn Carmack's wife, I have
learned a bit about her. I have seen her called Minnie Erwin Watson and
Minnie Watson Erwin. This is what I have learned. She was born Minnie
Watson, and had a marriage to John Erwin. I found that she drew a
Confederate Widow's Pension and then she married William Ryburn Carmack.
The sons are named Lawrence Granville Carmack (b. 8 Apr 1909) and James
Patton Carmack (b. 2 June 1912).
Wishing everyone a Happy New Year, Betty
