Below is the will of Margaret Wolfe, mother of Mary Wolfe Carmack &
Sarah Wolfe Carmack. I have transcribed it from a microfilm copy to the
best of my ability.

Last Will & Testament of Margaret Wolfe
Frederick County, MD Will Records Liber GM, No. 1, Folio 144-146
The fifth Day of February one thousand seven hundred and seventy nine I
Margaret Woolf of Frederick County in the State of Maryland being sick
and weak but of perfect Mind and Memory calling to mind the uncertainty
of this present Life do make this my last Will and Testament in Manner
and Form following. That is to say, first I leave my Soul to God who
gave it me and as to my worldly Effects I give in the Manner and Form
following {illegible}: I give and bequeath to my Son in Law Evan Carmack
and Mary his wife all my whole Stock of Sheep & one Copper Kettle now in
their possession and one Iron Kettle now in my Possession one Iron pan,
and one small Iron Kettle in my possession Likewise one Spade and one
Shovel, one pair of Iron Fire tongs & one pott. {Illegible} now in my
Possession and likewise one Linning{?} Wheel and my Bed bedstead and all
the Furniture belonging thereto my Chest and two pair of Shoes together
with all Things in the said Chest of whatsoever Kind. Together with all
and every of my Estate except the following particulars that is to say
give & bequeath to my loving Son Jacob Woolf one Shilling Sterling and
no more Likewise I give & bequeath to my Son in Law John Carmack and my
Daughter Sarah his Wife one Shilling Sterling and no more. I give and
bequeath to my Grand Daughter Margaret Carmack Daughter of Evan Carmack
my cow called Pip. hereby renouncing all former Wills & Testaments by me
made hereby existing{?} this and no other to be the last Will and
Testament Subscribed to be the last Will & Testament of Margaret Woolf
in the presence of us

Then came John Mort & Peter Mort two of the Subscribing Witness to the
within last Will & Testament of Margaret Wolf late of Frederick County
deceased, and made oath on the holy Evangels of almighty God that they
did see the Testator herein named sign & seal this Will, and that they
heard her publish pronounce and declare the same to be her last Will and
Testament, that at the Time of her so doing she was to the best of their
apprehensions of sound and desposing mind memory and understanding &
that they respectively subscribed their Names as Witnesses to this Will
in the presence and at the Request of the Testator and in the presence
of each other and that they also did see John Logsdon the other
submitting Witness to the said Will sign his Name as a Witness to this
Will and that they severally subscribed their names as Witnesses to the
said Will in the presence of the Testator and in the presence of each
other.
