I saw the following email and thought others might find it interesting. I
have not had the chance to followup and see what additional Carmack
information Barry may have.

Subject: [Mar] Captain Carmack of Liverpool?
Rod Colyer was so helpful a few weeks ago with searching for my Lt George
SANFORD. RN. I am asking the list if they might have reference to a one
Captain Carmack. All I have to date is an article found in the Exeter Flying
Post 9 September 1819
Tuesday the 17th ult at St Mark's Church, Liverpool, Lieutenant G.A SANDFORD
R.N, eldest son of Mr. T SANDFORD, Bull Inn, in this city to Sarah, youngest
daughter of the late Captain CARMACK of Liverpool"
I am assuming that George married into a Naval family and if Capt Carmack
might have been mentioned in any of your reference books. I would be really
grateful if SKS might take a peak if they have time. At the moment I have no
christian name and it doesn't seem to want to come up on the IGI - Many

Hello again Barry. I have checked O'Byrnes; The Commissioned Records of Sea
Going Officers of the RN 1660-1815, and WLC's History of the Royal Navy and
Captain Carmack does not figure at all.
Maybe he is a Merchant skipper?

Rod Colyer
