Carmack Cousins
I have had some very interesting responses to my e-mail on John
Carmack. Everyone ask me my relationship to John Carmack of
Bledsoe Co. TN.John is my 4th great grandfather through his son
William bc 1808 in Bledsoe and died Jan 1860 in Pulaski Co., MO.
I am like some of the rest of you as far as having a record that
states that William is the son of John. Many times, as much as we
would like, there are no records. So we do just like a trial and use
all the evidence we can find. I won't go into mind here, but I believe
without a doubt the my William is the son of John of Bledsoe.
Millie Carmack Burgett ask for a copy of the land records of both
Cornelius' that I found. I am putting them where everyone can have
them.
I did not copy all the records, but only took parts out. I found that
coping the records they did not come out so that they could be
read.
First I found a book, "Early Adventures on the Western Waters"
where it told of the early settlers did'nt have grants and they
received them mush later.
So some of the grants to Cornelius were much later than when he
actually settled on the land. only on had the actual first date.
Here is a list of the index and I will add some fore information after
the index.
