This newspaper obituary was sent to me from Oregon:
"Junction City--A celebration of life gathering will be held May 9 for
Lelia Merle Smith of Junction City, who died May 4 of age-related causes.
She was 81.
Smith was born April 20, 1920 in Sulpher Springs, TX to Samuel and Mary
McCulley Carmack. She married Leonard Smith in Sulpher Springs on Feb 4,
1946. He died May 23, 1982.
She graduated from Sulpher Springs High School. She moved to Junction
City 50 years ago. She was a homemaker and her interests included
cooking and reading. She enjoyed gardening and spending time with her
friends and family. She especially enjoyed being with her grandchildren.
She was a member of the Sewing Club.
Survivors include a daughter, Leslie Cromer of Junction City; two sons,
William and Michael, both of Eugene; two sisters, Frances Thornton of San
Antonio and Jeannette Doss of Indianapolis; and four grandchildren. A
daughter, Joanne Smith, died in 1950.
Wednesday's gathering will be held at 2:00pm at Cromer home, 740 Nyssa
St., Junction City. West Lawn Memorial Park & Funeral Home in Eugene is
in charge of arrangements."
I have the newspaper clipping and would be glad to snail mail it to
anyone who claims this deceased to be one of their family.
