MRS. M. J. WHITMAN
After an illness of about three years, Mrs. M. J . Whitman passed away at the
home of her daughter, Mrs. Milinda Fishburn, No.769 Eighth Street, Phenix City,
yesterday morning shortly after two o'clock. The entire community learned of Mrs.
Whitman's sad demise with the sincerest regret.
The deceased lady leaves four sons Messers James Whitman of Brantley, Ala.
S. J. Whitman also of Notasulga and J. O. Whitman of Phenix City, and four daughters,
Mrs. Thomas Goins, of Ntasulga, Mrs. M. A. Bailey of Brantley, Ala., Mrs T. M.
Carmack of Loachapoka, and Mrs. Fishburn of Phenix City.
The funeral took place from the late residence yesterday afternoon at four o'clock.
Rev. I. W. Mann, officiating. The followin were pallbearers; Messers J. P. Blake, L.
