Thank you so much for posting this announcement. William Carmack was my
gr,gr,great grandfather. I was at the Brooks Cemetery about a year ago. Is
it the one up on the hill above the Virginia/Tennessee state line markers?

The Virginia Society Sons of the American Revolution Martin's Staton Chapter
will be conducting a ceremony in honor of Revolutionary War veteran William
Carmack (1761-1851) at the Brooks Cemetery near Ewing, VA on Saturday, Nov
3, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. We will be marking his grave with a Veteran marker
and SAR marker. Members from the DAR and SAR will participate in this
ceremony, along with descendants. We welcome all who can attend.
William Carmack served as a Private in Virginia Line from 1779-1780 in
Captain Shelby's Company.
The Brooks Cemetery is located on Rt.690 in Lee County, Virginia, close to
the Claiborne Co, Tennessee line.
