HI---I show MARY JANE CARMACK, dau of John Jackson Carmack and Mary Elam. Mary Jane b. 15
April, 1858, d. 29 Aug. 1888. Her siblings were: Jesse Washington, James M.,Mary
Tennessee, Margaret, Elizabeth Ann, Susan Nancy, and Alvin Ridley. Alvin Ridley married my
great grandmothers' sister, Sarah Melinda Hayes. Elizabeth Ann married Robert Simon
Masters, and Jesse Washington's dau married John R. Masters whose son married my Great
Aunt Millie Candis Malone . I'm trying to connect to Susan Nancy who married Noah M.
Bost. Not sure, but my Great Aunt Mary Malone married a Joe Bost, and Joseph A.is listed
under Susan Nancy Carmack. I have a large Masters line.
I show Mary Jane Carmack married Robert Jones 21 Dec. 1876, and their children are: Jesse
and Walter. No other info. I'm using info from Dale Carmack. There was a Margery Jane
Evans, married to Cornelius, father of Jesse C. Carmack. It all goes back to Christopher.
Son Cornelius b 1681 Scotland, married Guein Corem 1701 in Frederick Co. Md. He died 4
Nov. 1749. etc. etc. Hope this helps. --Wanda
John and Polly are buried in the Mt Gilead cemetery in Overton
I just found Mary's parents (Edward Elam and Mary Elizabeth Harmon) through the
internet this week, but no dates of birth or death.
Dear Sir:
I was attempting to find any Carmacks serveing in the
CSA near Vickburg,Miss. I was born in Natchez,Miss but
my father Lloyd Carmack was from St. Louis and married
my mom, maiden name Willie Mae Daniels. I served in
the 101st Airborne Division Infantry Viet Nam
1968-1969. Thank your

I recently received a list of the Civil War
Veteran's that submitted
Questionnaires from the Tennessee Archives. The
following CSA
Carmac/Carmack's were listed:
Carmac, George 322
Carmack, Edward W. 400
Carmack, E.W. 254
Carmack, Jim 379
No Carmack's listed on the Federal Roster.
These Questionnaires were submitted between 1914 and
1918. Some of the
information is very informative, including parent's,
sometimes grandparents
and where they were born.
Jesse Washington Carmack stated in his Questionnaire
that his parents were
John Jackson Carmack and Mary Polly Ealum (Elam) and
that some of them came
from N.C. to TN and some from VA. Very interesting
reading.
I don't know why Jesse is not on the list I received
from the Archives.
Thought some of you might not be aware of these
Questionnaires. Copies can be
obtained from the Tennessee Archive's for $5 per
copy.
