What do you have on the above??
I have never been able to prove that our Frederick and your John were brothers or cousins. This would indicate they could be cousins.
Frederick's father was Frederick Carmack and mother was Martha Ann Edwards.

Laurie,
Concerning your line of ancestors, I believe the person you need to contact is Carol Isaak, CA. I don't have her current email address but if she is connected to the Carmack list, maybe she will respond. She attended the Carmack Cousins reunion in Berea in 1999. Her parents live there and Martin Ambrose is/was her uncle. She had family tree sheets and displayed them for our use. She can be helpful in your family search.

Martin is a cousin, he is the son of Luther. Luther and my great grand mother were sister and brother. The president of Berea College was in Booneville and just happened to meet my GGmother on the street during her evening walk. They engaged in a conversation and the president noted he knew Luther Ambrose and wondered if they might be related. Luther had the family tree trace way way back but I haven't found out who has his work now.

Cathy Carmack Worsham,
I picked up on your posting because of both your maiden name and married
name. Then I noticed you live in Cleveland TN. I live in Chickamauga, GA. which
is about a 1 hr Drive south from you.
I have Carmack's on my Dad's side, and Worsham's on my Mom's side.
Do you have any dates for your Levi Carmack ?
Do you know if any of his ancestors started out in Maryland?
The name is familiar to me.
My Worshams are connected to Byrds, Woods, Busters, & Campbell's. I cannot
find my info on them, right now.
I moved my Computer and its stuff about 1 mo. ago.
Still havent unpacked all of it.

Hi Cousin, I was also raised in Owsley County and am tickled to death to
hear from some one from home, especially the Ambrose side. As I understand a
Mr. Ambroae had something to do with Berea College and possibly a book on
Carmacks. Do you know anything about that?? Oh I am a Carmack thru Levi,
abraham, Isaac 1852. My grandfatner was Ezekiel. Thanks for responding and
we will "chat" later.

Hello Cousin! I take that you are probably related to Martin Ambrose of Berea, KY. I met him at the Carmack reunion we had in 1999 at Berea. He was our very talented entertainment for the gathering-demonstrating the mandolin/guitar/banjo, and the history of line singing. I met several Carmack descendants at that reunion. You will most likely make connection with several cousins who attended that same reunion.
I descend from Isaac's brother, Enoch Carmack, sons of Levi born 1791.
