Thanks for your reply. It would be interesting to read whatever you
have on the Carmacks of Kendrick. By the way Kendrick sounds like it
may be in Scotland?
What progress are you making on finding your father. I have a few
suggestions if you'd like
to hear them:
What age would your father be now?
Is your mother living and does she recall any facts on your dad; for
instance, what
years he was in the military--what branch and if he ever went to the VA
for medical
they may still have record of him.
Also if he is dead and someone collected his death benefit and you knew
what city and state he died in there would be a record (Latter Day Saints
Church is a good place to search this)
Also have you ever tried on internet the phone directories across U S.
Would you be able to find his son and also maybe your father if he is
still living? I found a relative of my Dad's this way.
Would your mom remember where he was born and when. I found my deceased
brother's birth certificate this way.

Hello Cousins,
This Earl Carmack's family chart is as follows.
Levi -1791, Abraham -1828, Issac 1852, Abraham Jasper-1879, Herman age 3
1910 Owsley Co Ky Census.
Cousin Tony
I'm just about finished with my Eastern Ky Research & ready to start on
Tenn. Does anyone know Where Levi Carmack & Elizebeth Peters Carmack lived
in Clairborne Co Tenn? What Creek,Hollar? Does Tenn have large County Maps 3
ft x 5 ft like Ky does?
Her Husband; Jon son "Rake" Riddle ABT 1805 to 1840 was supposely Cherokee from North Carolina. His father John Riddle was active in the Kings Mountain Battle in 1880 as a British supporter. The first name is for the son of John Riddle. John Riddle was Cherokee from the Census. I think John had an Indian wife. I don't know her name. Rake or Raven Riddle traveled to Missouri with part of the New Settlers and returned to settle with his brothers and sisters in the Cherokee Sipsey River Wilderness. I sure would like to know his full Cherokee name. I am at a dead end here. Yes, I would like the other information on Martha Carmack or Carmach. Thanks so much Victor...
Victor,
I have done research on the Rake family. I do not find a Martha Carmack, but this is what I have:
Caroline Rake m. George Arastus Allen
Robert Lester Allen m. Nellie Eleanor Alford
Viola Allen m. Albert Lee Lauritson
Delphine Joy Lauritson m. Bobby Gene Carmack.
I have a few other Carmack names on my program. Will give you these if it will help.
Sandy

My wife's family goes back to some Carmacks in Kendrick in the latter part

Those of you who wish to learn the parents of this George Wash. Carmack might consider Jonathan Carmack and wife Jane. This Jonathan died in 1843 in KY and names a son George Washington Carmack in his will. Dale Carmack has posted this will to this board. I can't give any more information on Jonathan & Jane because it is the first I have ever heard of them.
Dale, In this Will there is a son named George Washington Carmack. I wonder if he might be the one who married Elizabeth Yates. No has been able to connect him to any parents. Some believe he is son of William Carmack and Rosannah Wheeler (of my John I line), but William's will does not include a George and he never lived in Craven Co N.C.where G. W. was born. I will make a posting suggesting Jonathan & Jane might be his parents.
There is a clue in this indenture as to which Cornelius it is. The last sentence names his wife, Lettice (or Lettia in Dale's records) so that makes this Cornelius the one born 8 Jan 1759 in Frederick Co. MD to Cornelius Carmack and Margery Jane Evans. The Cornelius in the indenture died 28 July 1848 in Overton Co. TN

Norm,
The Captain John Carmack you're referring to is John the son of William Carmack and Jane McDaniel. He was very active in the Committee of Observation for Frederick County, Maryland.
"Resolved That Captns Joseph Wood, Val Creager, JOHN CARMACK--do form their Companies in Battalion.
Resolved, That this Committee think it expedient and necessary to recommend persons proper for field Officers to the several Battalions of Militia to the Convention--Captains Robert Wood, Valentine Creager, JOHN CARMACK--are to compose the second Battalion."

Can U tell me which John Carmack I have here?
Frederick County, MD:
Frederick Clabaugh was active in the military. As a young man in 1758, he
served as Corporal in Captain John Middaugh's Company and was still
Corporal in 1767 as seen in Captain John Middaugh's muster roll of March 2,
1767. Later he served as sergeant in Captain John Carmack's Company where
he probably continued to serve through the Revolutionary War.' Frederick
took the oath of allegience in 1777 and was living in Frederick County at
that time.
