I read your post with great interest. I believe that the family sir name CARYLE is very
likely a part of my family tree.
My Great Great Grandfather was b)1829 Harry WELSH originally from Belfast,Ireland and he
married b)1830 Jane CARR or KERR she was originally from Fermanaugh,Ireland.
They immigrated to Canada and settled in Peterborough County, Peterborough, Ontario.
My Great Grandmother was Sarah Ann WELSH b)1849 in Peterborough County,
Peterborough,Ontario. She had first been married to John MURRY and then to my Great
Grandfather Thomas HYSLOP/HISLOP b)1835 in Scotland. My Great Grand Parents were married
1864 in Keady, Ontario.
Thomas HYSLOP and Sarah WELSH had four sons. My Grandfather was a twin Harry HYSLOP
b)February 6, 1865 - 1949; Thomas EDWARD HYSLOP b)February 6, 1865 - 1908; . James Carlyle
HYSLOP 1888 - 1963 Watson Joseph HYSLOP b) 1890 - 1918 France.
My Great Great Grandfather James HISLOP/HYSLOP was married to Elizabeth WATSON in
Scotland. We do not have the exact location in Scotland and are still researching for this
information.
My great Uncle b)1880 James Carlyle HYSLOP I believe was named after a family member with
the sir-name CARLYLE and I am hoping that their is a connection with Thoms CARLYLE and
Jane WELSH.
We are hoping that our HYSLOP/HISLOP roots can be traced back to the area that Thomas
CARLYLE came from.
Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
Susann
