Am seeking information on Mr. and Mrs. C. P. Carlson.
I have a photos of each of them in my family album, with the following
notations by my grandmother:
On Mrs. Carlson's photo:
"Wife of C. P. Carlson of 471 Ashland Avenue, Elgin, Illinois, born in Sweden.
This lady was a sister of my grandmother."
On Mr. Carlson's photo:
"C. P. Carlson of 471 Ashland Avenue, Elgin, Illinois, born in Augustsbode,
Sweden."
Augustsbode is probably Algutsboda, Kalmar County, Sweden.
The Carlsons had a son, Emry (Emory?), of whom I also have a photo.
It is possible that Mrs. Carlson's maiden name was GUSTAFSON and that her
sister, my maternal great great grandmother, was Karotina (Karolina?)
GUSTAFSON. I'm not sure about the Gustafson surname, but am sure that
Karotina married a man named
RYDELL, with whom she had five children, four of whom survived: Carl, Josef,
Hilda and Ida Matilda (my great grandmother).
Carl and Josef RYDELL remained in Sweden - their two sisters travelled to
America in either 1890 or 1892.
