I am looking for any info on the following individuals:
Ossian Waldemar Carlsson was born August 31, 1859 somewhere in Vastergotland.
His parents were Otto and Johanna Carlson. He may also have used the name
Waldemar Carlsson or Oskar Carlsson. He came to the US in 1876 or 1879. He
sailed on several merchant vessels in the US and may have been in the Swedish
Merchant Marine before coming to the US. He married my great-grandmother
Clara Josephine Mathilda Carlson in Newport, Rhode Island, US on July 15, 1891
in Providence. Clara and her family belonged to the United Congregational
Church, Newport, RI. They moved to Rockford, Illinois, US in 1892. They
belonged to the Emanuel Lutheran Church in Rockford, Illinois. Ossian died in
Rockford, Illinois in 1939.
The farm labourer (statare)

This family lived and worked at the farm Bårarp in Rävinge parish when they
got their moving letter for America from the minister in Rävinge parish in
July 1, 1882. (Source: Rävinge household census, husförhörslängd, 1882,
page 86)
I also found the same family in the Swedish passenger lists. They are
listed as
Christan Carlson, 37 years old
w.Maria, 30 years old
d.Clara, 8 years old
s.Ernst, 6 years old
s.Carl, 4 years old
d.Gerda, 1 year old
They left from the port of Göteborg in July 14, 1882 on the Orlando. They are
listed to
have come from Rävinge parish in Halland county and they had a ticket for
New York. Ticket number: 21:49a:16117.
Sven Christian and his family settled in Newport, Rhode Island. My great-
grandparents met and married there before moving to Rockford, Illinois. Clara
died on June 14, 1943 in Rockford, Illinois. In Clara's obituary, the
following siblings were mentioned: Ida Carlson Potter, Charles Carlson and
Rudolph Carlson.
Any info on these individuals would be greatly appreciated.
