My grandfather was Adolph Isaksson (later Isaacson), born in Dalskog in 1867. He came to
America with his father (Isak Peterson) and siblings in about 1883.(They came on separate
ships between 1881 and 1883 or so.) His uncle, Jan Jacobsson (John Jackson) also came from
Dalskog with his family. These people all settled in Scandia, Washington County, Minnesota
(near Minneapolis/St. Paul). Isak Peterson had a brother, Carl, whose sons would have been
Carlson. Is there any chance these lines connect?
I did a quick census search on Ancestry for Axel Carlson, and found a family that MIGHT
be his, living in 1900 in Belle Praire, Morrison County, Minnesota. There was Axle
Carlson, born about 1870 in Sweden, wife Annie born about 1876 in Sweden, and children
Ernest (age 3 years) and Clarence (age 5 months). There had been four children, but only
two still living. Axle came to America in 1887.
Perhaps this is your family. But I will check my notes from the Scandia area, and perhaps
find them there yet. I know people from the same village often settled in America as
neighbors...
Good luck!
