my grandfather.
Martin E. Carlson
Martin E. Carlson, 78, of Columbus, and formerly of North Ridgeville, died Tuesday, Dec.
26, 2006, at his home. He moved to Columbus recently after residing in North Ridgeville
for 39 years. Born in Ludlow, Pa., he was raised in Kanesholm, Pa. He graduated from Kane
High School in 1946 and was a veteran of the Korean War. Mr. Carlson was employed by
Stackpole Carbon Co. in Kane, Pa., before moving to NASA's Lewis Research Center in
Cleveland, where he was a tool and die maker. He ended his career at Tribon Bearing Co. in
Cleveland. He was active in the Boy Scouts, serving as a cubmaster and also as committee
member for many years. Survivors include his wife of 55 years, Helen (nee Patrick)
Carlson; sons Gary Carlson of Dublin; Richard Carlson of Grafton; Tim Carlson of Elyria; a
daughter, Lori Cutshall of Kosciusko, Miss.; and nine grandchildren. He was preceded in
death by his golfing partners Alvin Fulkerson and Bill Vaden; and his parents Charles A.
and Margaret (nee Kei!
ster) Carlson. Services will be 11 a.m. Friday at Schoedinger Northwest Chapel, 1740
Zollinger Road, Columbus. Interment will follow at Kingwood Memorial Park, Lewis Center,
