Marguerite Evelyn Herrmann Carlson Marguerite Evelyn Herrmann Carlson,
age 83, died peacefully on Thursday, November 13, 2008 at her Millcreek Twp. home
surrounded by her loving family.
She was born on February 13, 1925 in Edinboro, Pa., the daughter of the late, Alphonso and
Wilma Pfeffer Herrmann. Marguerite was the widow of Ernest C. Carlson whom she married on
May 4, 1946. Ernest preceded her in death on January 9, 2005
as well as brothers, Lawrence and Francis Herrmann.
Surviving are her children: Deborah C. Cumings and her husband, William, of Camp Hill,
Pa., Ernest D. Carlson and his wife, Gloria, and Katherine M. Carlson and her partner,
Kristine Nelson all of Erie. Six grandsons: Lt. Ernest G. Carlson, Cpt. Eric D. Carlson
and his wife, Sara, Spec. Michael Carlson, Adam Carlson, William and Andrew Cumings. Two
great grandchildren, Evan and Wesley Carlson,
sisters, Mrs. Carl (Mary) Schaefer and Mrs. Darrell (Wilma) Vanderveer of Liverpool,
N.Y.,
sister-in-law, Mrs. Francis (Betty) Herrmann,
and several nieces and nephews
also survive her. Marguerite was a founding member of Our Lady of Peace Church.
Marguerite celebrated life and we ask that you celebrate her life with us on Monday,
November 17, 2008 at Our Lady of Peace from 1:00 p.m. until time of Mass of Christian
Burial at 2:00 p.m. Inurnment Calvary Cemetery. Arrangements are being handled by the
Dusckas-Martin Funeral Home and Crematory, Inc., 4216 Sterrettania Rd. In lieu of flowers,
memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of Peace Church, 2401 West 38th St. Erie,
PA 16506, Great Lakes Hospice, 1700 Peach St. Erie, PA 16501 or to the Second Harvest Food
Bank, 1507 Grimm Dr. Erie, Pa.
