Hi Sandy -
I see that Anna already sent you information from the Emibas CD on your Augusta Emilia
Boldt. I found the following record on the Emihamn database on the Swedish Emigrant CD:
First name: EMELIA
Last name: BOLDT
Age: 20 Gender: K
Parish: VETLANDA County: F
Port: GÖTEBORG
Date: 1881 08 04
Destination: CHICAGO
Fellows: NEJ
Source: 18:202:22680
If you write an e-mail to the Göteborgs Landsarkivet, they can give you a few more
details, such as the name of the ship (this is usually just a "feeder" ship to
Hull or Grimsby, England, where the emigrants would then travel by rail to Liverpool,
Southampton, etc. to board a larger ship for the trans-Atlantic journey). For more
information, see SweGGate (
http://www.rootsweb.com/~swewgw/index.htm) under Themes -
Emigration - Emigranten CD.
I wasn't able to find Oskar Viktorinus on either the Emibas CD or the Emihamn database
on the Emigrant CD. The Emibas CD is estimated to be about 75% complete, and coverage
after about 1900 or so seems especially incomplete. I only did a quick scan of the
Emihamn results - there were over 150 hits on a search of Os--- Karls--- leaving from
Kalmar län. It would help to do these searches if you could post an approximate
emigration year (which can be found on 1900-1910-1920 U.S. censuses). Otherwise, it is
hard to focus a search enough to find a match in all the "noise."
For similar reasons, I did not try to find your Pehr Fredrik. These names are just too
common in Sweden to do much of anything without more information (such as date and place
of birth, emigration year, etc.)
Hope this helps -
