Hi!
I also have Carlson relatives that came from Sweden to Mancelona MI. I
don't have much info on them yet except for the direct line I'm related to.
Hopefully I will be able to find some in my Uncles' papers when we go
through his things next weekend. I was going to post a query if I got more
info, but when I saw this letter I thought I would respond to let you know
that there are more of us out here!!
This is what I do know. My grandmother came from Sweden to Mancelona MI
when she was 3. I was told that her father and mother were buried in the
cemetary in Mancelona. My grandmother's name was Bertha, she had a sister
named Edith and they had a brother, but I don't know his name. Bertha
married Albert Boland, and Edith married Fred Walcott who was an English
professor at the University of Michigan. Not too much to go on but it is a
start.
Good luck in your search!

I have been subscribed to this list for months and I don't think I have ever
seen a posting.
I am an ancestor of John Carlson & Julia Thorsburg. They are from an
Finnish island that is close to Sweden. They immigrated to the US and
settled in and around Midland, MI.
Good luck in your searching.
