Emily -
It really helps if you have a city in Sweden that one of them came from.
Then it is rather easy to get information, but since many people used
"patronymic" names - such as Johnson (the son of John), or Larsson, (the son of
Lars) and
of course, Carlson, (the son of Carl), it is very hard to pinpoint names
unless there is a city to go with a name.
After you can give us a city in Sweden, you can write to or call the Swenson
Center in Rock Island, IL and get information from them (see below). (It
isn't always necessary to get the information from Sweden). The Swenson Center
has all of the same information that Sweden has.
Here is their information -

You can also pay $40/yr. to get a subscription to their Swedish American
Genealogist book, sent out quarterly. It is a wonderful journal of other peoples
stories, pictures, etc.
If I can be of help in any other way, please let me know. I have been
working on my Swedish family tree for 25 years. I have found living relatives of my
great grandfathers family and also my great grandmothers family in Sweden. I
have been to visit with them 3 times now - it is a very beautiful country!
Have fun!
