Was ordained a minister at the Loomis Evangelical Free Church on Oct. 29, 1933; served
Evangelical Free churches in Stamford and Polk, at Albion and Annandale, Minn., and at
Melvin, Texas; moved to Kearney, served as pastor of the Evangelical Free Church,
1945-1953; served the American Sunday School Union in Odessa, 1953-1969; retired in 1970
Activities: member of Evangelical Free Church in Kearney, taught Sunday school for 27
years
Survivors include his wife;
son, Stan of Oakbrook Terrace, Ill.;
daughters, Marilyn of Kearney,
Pauline Nelson of Pembine, Wis.,
and Lynette Rathbone of Grand Island;
and 10 great-grandchildren; also sons-in-law, Merle Nelson of Pembine and Don Rathbone of
Grand Island; daughter-in-law, Mary Carlson of Oakbrook Terrace; and grandchildren, Brad
Nelson of Cleveland, Kay Mork of Rockford, Ill.; Janine Starcevich of Mount Prospect,
Ill., Lynda Kay of Kingston, Jamaica, Eric Carlson of Lincoln, Christopher Carlson of Oak
Brook, Ill., Caleb Newquist of Denver and Zach Newquist of Fort Collins, Colo.
