I've "rescued" an old photograph of Isaac BILLROTH which was taken at the
F.
J. Lee Studio in Tacoma, Washington. The photograph appears to have been
taken in the early 1900's with Isaac likely in his 20's at the time it was
taken. In addition to his name, someone has written "Grandma CARLSON'S
brother" on the back of the photograph. Based on limited research I was
able to locate the family as follows:
Isak or Isaac Emanuel BILLROTH was b. 6 Aug 1880 in Sweden to parents Johan
Gottfrid Ostberg BILLROTH (b. 1 Jul 1842 in Sweden) and Ingrid Marta
GRANBERG (b. 8 Jan 1849 in Sweden). Isak died in Washington State in Mar
1964.
Census records provide the following information:
1910 census of Seattle, WA:
Isaac E. BILLROTH, age 29, born Sweden, parents born Sweden
Mellville V. HARTY, age 28
Pearl E. HARTY, age 25
Edna J. HARTY, age 2
1920 census of Seattle, WA:
Isaac E. BILLROTH, age 39, to USA 1903, born Sweden, parents born Sweden, a
Store Grocer
Signe E. BILLROTH, wife, age 32, to USA 1903, born Sweden, parents born
Sweden
Agnes V. BILLROTH, dau, age 1 year + 1 month, born WA
I am hoping to locate someone from this BILLROTH Family so that the
photograph can be returned to their care. If you are a member of this
family, or you know someone who might be, please contact me.
Thanks,
Shelley
