It does not appear that we can help each other. I don't know when or where my grandfather [Johan Carl] died. The latest it could have been would have been in the 1940s. My grandmother, Anna Charlotta, died in 1941.

I'm looking for informtion about a Carl August Carlson that married a Mathilda Charlotta (last name unknown). I know that Mathilda and Carl were divorced. They had four children: Anna Caroline (Carlson) Christensen, Carl AugustCarlson, John Oscar Carlson, and Ida Sophia (Carlson) Harrigan. John Oscar Carlson was married to Amelia Milbeck in Bristol, SD. They moved to Valparaiso, IN where they lived out their livesAll the information that I have on the other siblings is from a piece of paper agreeing that the female Carlson's combine the property that their mother left to them with their brothers Carl and John. Mathilda owned property in Bristol, SD and Kanebec Co, MN. Mathilda passed away on October 6, 1922. .

I found my grandfather on the passport list. He left Saltvik in 1902. I believe he had 2 brothers of which your family may be descended. I would love to hear what you have. This is basically all I have right now.

Info confirmed through grandparents/parent/family bible. Carl Oscar Carlson's parents were Johan Carlson and Ann Katrina. Looking for further info on them.

I have family from Saltvik also, we are probably related through some branch or another, I have searched the passport and sheriffs list, and found passports listed for my branch, but none for passengers, did your Carlson/Karlssons' settle in America, the hardest part is tracing them once they reached this shore. Perhaps we can exchange information on the Carlson we have already traced in the Alands. Thank you for sharing. Doris

The Alands were Finnish Islands. On the Finland website there is a sheriffs passport list that might be helpful to you. I am also researching the Carlson-Karlsson name from the Alands. Mine were from Saltvik.

Do you have any information on this Esther? I am looking for information on my great grandmother Esther W. Carlson. She was born in 1897 in Sweden and immigrated. She married a Van J. Allinger in Iowa in 1937, however, I believe she was married before this because she had a daughter that was not Van's. She died in 1984 in Illinois.
