One of the subscribers to the CARLOUGH list was kind enough to suggest the following:
"Go to the town of Mahwah, NJ and request a book named 'The History of
Mahwah' it references the CARLOUGH Family who settled in 1709 in the Ramapo
Valley."
Unfortunately, I live in suburban San Antonio, Texas, and am unable to travel to New
Jersey at this time. Does anyone have access to this book who could either scan those
pages for me, send me photocopies of those pages, or post excerpts from that book to this
list? Does anyone know of an on-line source for this book?

Subject: [CARLOUGH] Descendants of brothers Coenraad, Johann Christian, and David GERLACH,
early American immigrants
...
Another brother, Coenraad/Conrad GERLACH/GERLAG/CARLOCK (1660 - ca.
1712), settled in Hackensack, Bergen Co., NJ. Coenraad is known to have CARLOCK and
CARLOUGH (pronounced like "CARLOW") descendants. I am also exploring the
possibility that he may also have CARLOW descendants.
