Dear all message members,
Searching for any and all information and leads on CARLON surname in the UK and IRELAND.
UK areas of Staffordshire (Newcastle under Lyme), St. Helens/Haydock, Lancashire
(Newton-le-Willows) and Liverpool, from the 1850s-1900s time frame (before and after)
PlEASE CONTACT ME!
My maternal GF John CARLON married Catherine, nee HUGHES sometime late 1800s (probably
1890 /- 10 years) from census returns stated originally from Ireland.
Family lore has origin of CARLON from in or around Co. Mayo either Knock or Kiltimaugh,
possibly around or after the famine.
Catherine Hughes was possibly from the UK or Ireland and family moved from Newcastle under
Lyme to HAYDOCK. Had daughters Annie, Catherine, and Margaret.
All the sisters left for USA.
Anyone with ANY CARLON History or information of this surname is very much encouraged to
contact me as I am trying to write and ascertain the complete surname history, its basis
in the UK and Ireland.
Any information, clues, lore, or stories (*anything*) will be greatly appreciated (no
matter how insignificant you think it is please pass this information on) as any family
"lore" or stories may help and so these can be recorded into a comprehensive
story of the surname that is being written for publication!
Thanks so much!
